ROUTE 66 CAR SHOW is on Sunday, Sept. 19, 2010 from 9:00 AM - noon. We expect 40+ classic cars to participate in our St. James Route 66 Car Show. You don’t want to miss this one ! Worship is outside at 10:15 AM with our wonderful praise band followed by the car show, lunch, and trophy presentations. The congregation will be given ballots and will vote for their favorite car at the show. St. James will present a “PEOPLE’S CHOICE” award to the winner. Let’s fill the ballot box and show our appreciation to these drivers!! Come and participate in this much loved show. Also, instead of the winners receiving trophies, they will have a donation made in their name to a non-profit charity of their choice.
German Dinner will be held on Thursday, Oct. 7, 2010 at St. James from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Lloyd Cheeseman will cater the dinner. The Carillon ringers will serve. Pastor Grosch will present a power point slide presentation and narration of Wittenberg and the most famous Lutheran Church in the world, the Castle Church. A sign up sheet for the dinner will be in the fellowship hall starting Sept. 5. A free will offering will be taken.
Carillons in Concert will present “A Musical Journey Around the World” on Sunday, November 21, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. at St. James. We will play songs representing different countries including sacred, secular, folk, and holiday songs. The concert is free and open to the public. Donations will be gratefully received.
